The world is abuzz with “likes” and “commenting”, but do you really know how your audience is using Facebook? Do you have a Facebook strategy to help you grow your database?

These are some of the areas we recently explored with our national Facebook study.

With over 66K national responses, we asked some critical usage questions like:

Have you ever “liked” a Facebook page to be part of a contest? National sample: 47.5% said yes

How many hours a day do you spend on Facebook? National sample: 18.5% said 1 to 2 hours a day!

Have you ever shared information about a contest or brand promotion with your friends on Facebook? National Sample: 31.8% said yes!

If you want to see how your market answered, go to: admin > reports > closed surveys > facebook survey.

How You Can Use the Data
• Use the new “Get Social” module in your loyalty program to incentivize your audience to earn points for ‘likes’ for clients
Pay attention to how much time your audience spends with Facebook daily and create a strategy to post relevant content more often
Understand where your audience goes to get information updates most often
Create on air and off air promotions that can help you leverage your biggest fans social streams to encourage like minded people to sample your brand

For more information on how to socialize your brand using your loyalty program and Facebook, email us at help@tritonloyalty.com

Part of the power of your VIP loyalty program is the ability to close the feedback loop between your audience and your brand.

Using your polls and surveys module you can create and post questionnaires that help keep you in sync with the pulse of your audience.
With over 47K national responses here’s what we found in our first 2011 Holiday Shopping survey:
• 61.5% plan on spending less this year than last on gifts
• 26% plan on giving gift cards
• 22% will be looking at daily deals sites for discounts
• 52% plan on using cash instead of credit cards
• 51% still plan on giving to charity despite the current economic conditions

  • Think about the importance of charitable giving in your market
  • Craft your on air messages to your audience to focus on what’s important to them this holiday season

Just a quick reminder of two StickyFish launches that start today:

Facebook Promotion

As we announced in our post last week, for StickyFish programs that have the Social Incentives Widget turned on, we will be launching a special incentive to drive more Facebook Log Ins and Likes. Any member that logs in with Facebook and completes at least one Facebook Like in your Get Social section by the end of the year will receive:

  • 10,000 points instantly
  • A 50% bonus on all points they earn through the end of the year
  • An automatic entry to win a $500 in cash

New SEE Features

Also, as we announced on in our November 16th post and November 18th post, we are launching more exciting features from our Social Engagement Engine (SEE).  If you are a StickyFish licensee, these features are included with your existing license and will be automatically launched on your site as outlined in the November 18th post, so please read this full post if you have not already.

If you have any questions on either of these launches, please contact us at help@tritondigital.com.

If you are an existing StickyFish and FanClub licensee, we have some great news!  Starting November 4 we are turning on access to our new contest engine, Digital Ivy, for all licensees.

Digital Ivy enables you to create and launch photo, video, audio, or text submission contests using our new contesting platform! All contests are automatically optimized for iPhones, iPads, and Android devices and will appear within your existing StickyFish and FanClub contest lists.  However, we also give you the power to embed these same contests into your website or other websites outside of StickyFish and FanClub.  Regardless of how and where users access your contests, whether it be their iPhone, yoursite.com, or a StickyFish/FanClub program, they all share and grow your existing user database!

Digital Ivy also introduces powerful syndication functionality and new revenue opportunities!  For those of you who manage more than one station or site, you can now create a contest once and run it on multiple sites with their own unique look & feel or sponsor while sharing the contestant, submissions, and prize pool.  The same contest can now reach a bigger audience and help you attract larger sponsors or multiple sponsors that are station or site specific!

Need ideas on how to leverage these new capabilities?  Here are a few samples:

The Cutest Baby Contest – Photo Submission

The Best Slam – Video Submission

Caption This – Text Submission

The Poetry Slam – Audio Submission

To get started, log in after November 4 using your existing StickyFish or Fan Club admin credentials at http://admin.listenernetwork.com and select Contest from the product dropdown:

Digital Ivy user guides and workshops are available on our support site.  Training films and webinars are coming soon.  If you have any questions or have trouble accessing Digital Ivy, please contact us for more information.
