With Facebook Log In and our new social incentives, you open up a whole new way to connect with and learn about your audience. Our new Social Incentives widget enables your audience to earn rewards points when they ‘Like’ any page you designate on Facebook (your page or any advertiser’s page), when they share content on Facebook, and when they initially log in using their Facebook account. And our upcoming Social Analytics will help you gain new insights from your users social networking activity.
The first step to unlock these powerful new capabilities is to get your current members to connect their Facebook to their current club account. We will be launching a promotional campaign on Monday to help you to just that!
Starting Monday, November 28th, for StickyFish programs that have the Social Incentives Widget turned on, we will be launching a special incentive to drive more Facebook Log Ins and Likes. Any member that logs in with Facebook and completes at least one Facebook Like in your Get Social section by the end of the year will receive:
- 10,000 points instantly
- a 50% bonus on all points they earn through the end of the year
- An automatic entry to win a $500 in cash
This promotion will run through the end of the year to help you drive more log ins and likes. It will be promoted within your StickyFish site(s) to active members, but we welcome you to also promote it on air, via email or on your home page. The cash contest is sponsored and funded by us as a part of our prizing service, and the 50% bonus points will be automatically credited to users at the end of the promotion period.
If you have questions about this promotion or do not want to participate, please contact us by noon EDT on Monday the 28th.
Release Notes – 11/17/11
A new version of our software was released on the 17th. This release contains both fixes and enhancements. Here’s what’s been updated in this release…
Enhancement: Registration APIs – We added a new optional parameter to the API methods used for registration (UpdateMember, CreateUpdateMember, and UpdateConsumer) that allows for overriding of all default subscriptions. When used, this will prevent the newly created record from being automatically signed up for any subscription that is set to ‘default on’. There is no need to pass specific subscription IDs, so this can be done without knowledge of which subscriptions are set to ‘default on’. (more…)
As we mentioned on Tuesday, we have several new features from our Social Engagement Engine (SEE) rolling out soon. We would encourage you to read our Tuesday blog post before reading the information below, as it provide imortant context. If you are a StickyFish licensee, these features are included with your existing license and will be automatically launched on your site. Please read the complete post below for information on this rollout and your options to customize these new features.
What are we Launching?
- Ladders– we will be launching three ladders initially for StickyFish sites:
- XP Ladder: this ladder enables a member to ‘level up’ in the program based their overall ‘experience’ in the program. At launch, your members will earn XP when they complete an Appointment (Listen & Win, Watch & Win, Read & Win), a Trivia, or a Survey. We will expand this in the very near future to include other actions in StickyFish, and you can also expand this to include actions on your main web site(s) or mobile applications (stay tuned for another blog post about this). Hover herePower User I - V
Super User I - V
Expert I - V
Master I - V
Grand Master I - V to see the XP Level names that will launch on your site. Contact us by 11/28 if you would like to customize the names these Levels for one or more of your sites.
- Trivia Ladder: this ladder tracks each Trivia a member completes and allows them to unlock badges as they level up and compete for position on the Trivia Junkies Leaderboard. Hover hereTrivia Junkie Level 1-10 to see the Trivia Level names that will launch on your site. Contact us by 11/28 if you would like to customize the names or badges associated with these Levels for one or more of your sites.
- Survey Ladders: this ladder tracks each Survey a member completes and allows them to unlock badges as they level up and compete for position on the Survey Leaderboard. Hover hereSurvey Responder Level 1-10 to see the Survey Level names that will launch on your site. Contact us by 11/28 if you would like to customize the names or badges associated with these Levels for one or more of your sites.

- Profile – a new drop down member profile will be added to the left side of the navigation bar on the StickyFish template (see graphic above). This profile will show the users photo (if logged in via Facebook), their current XP level in the program, their points currency balance, and any badges they have unlocked on specific ladders. Hovering over their level or their badges gives the user more information on their progress on those specific ladders. Clicking ‘learn more about badges’ enables the user to view the full level structure for that ladder.

- Leaderboards – in the right rail, where the Get Points Marquee used to be, two new leaderboards will be added (see graphic above). Members can tab back and forth between the two leaderboards to see where they rank, and hovering over a user opens up a flyout showing more information about a specific member’s status.
You can preview these new features right now on our Atlanta’s Rock demo site. We recommend logging in with your Facebook account, and then completing at least one Survey and one Trivia to unlock the first badge for each.
These new features will begin to roll out the week of November 28th, and we expect to have all sites launch by early December. We invite you to customize any of the Levels outlined above to more closely align with your brand. Please contact us no later than noon EDT on Monday, November 28th with any changes you would like to make.
If you are not a Stickyfish client, but would like more information on how you can take advantage of the powerful new Social Engagement Engine, drop us an email or give us a call at 770-919-9969. We’d love to talk to you about how social tools and game mechanics can increase your site traffic, conversions, retention, and digital revenue.
We are excited to announce the launch of more exciting features from our Social Engagement Engine (SEE). If you are a StickyFish licensee, these features are included with your existing license and will be automatically launched on your site. For more information regarding the exact features, how to customize or opt-out of receiving them, stay tuned to tomorrow’s blog post.
Starting the week of November 28th, we will begin launching several new Social Engagement features on StickyFish sites, including a new member Profile Widget featuring Levels and Badges, and Leaderboard Widgets for the Trivia and Survey modules.

These widgets are powered by SEE’s new ‘Points Ladders’ and ‘User Action’ capabilities.
What’s a Points Ladder?
As the name implies, a points ladder is something you climb. It is used to power levels, and ranking on leaderboards. In contrast to StickyFish’s points currency (which you earn and then redeem, causing your balance to go up and down), you only earn points in a ladder, you don’t redeem them. For example, we are introducing a points ladder for StickyFish Trivia. In this case, the ladder will be named ‘Trivia Junkies’, and the points will be called ‘Trivia Answered’. Each time you complete a Trivia in StickyFish, you will be credited for 1 Trivia Answered….and you will see on a leaderboard on the StickyFish site showing how you rank against other Trivia players in total Trivia Answered. You will also unlock Trivia Junkie badges as you answer more Trivia and level up.
What are User Actions?
A user action is a specific behavior of a consumer that you want to track and credit. Using the SEE admin console, we can set up any type of action and define how many currency points and/or ladder points to credit when this action is completed, and set limits on how often the user is credited for the action. Once an Action has been defined, SEE can track it either by inserting a small snippet of javascript on the site where the action occurs, or through an API call. For example, we set up an Action for Trivia, and placed javascript on the StickyFish Trivia pages that communicates with the SEE platform each time a member completes a Trivia. When a Trivia is correctly answered, SEE receives the communication and credits the user for two ladders we have set up….an XP ladder, and the Trivia Junkies ladder mentioned above.
Stay tuned to our next blog post tomorrow for more information on exact feature set being launched on your StickyFish site!
