Release Notes – 1/18/11
A new version of our software was released on the 18th. This release contains both fixes and enhancements. Here’s what’s been updated in this release…
Enhancement: Contest API – We added an API method ‘LoadActiveContests’. This can be called for a specific site and will return the name, unique ID, points for entry (if applicable), start date, end date, and direct URL for all active contests on that site.
Enhancement: Email registration widget – You can now create a signup form for email and newsletters that can be deployed on your website. The code for the widget can be generated in the Stickyfish and Fanclub admin console and allows you to specify any subscription that you want users to sign up for. The link to this new functionality is found under the ‘Mass Email’ menu.
Fixed: Featured contest carousel – Fixed issue that the links in the featured contest carousel on Stickyfish and Fanclub sites were displaying below the images instead of above. (more…)

We’re excited to announce the Beta release of Immediate Insights, our new survey research product. Immediate Insights is a powerful new survey engine that enables enterprise wide management of surveys, mobile optimization, and much more. Immediate Insights can be used as a stand alone service to deploy surveys on your website(s) and client sites, and it also fully integrates with StickyFish and Fan Club programs. This new product is included at no additional cost to clients that currently license our Stickyfish and FanClub services. Here are just a few of the features of Immediate Insights:
- Enterprise Management – create a survey and syndicate it across a portion or all of your websites/media properties
- Flexible Publishing – create a stand alone survey microsite, embed the survey in an existing page, syndicate a survey to your StickyFish or Fan Club program, publish the survey to your Facebook page(s)*
- Mobile optimization – each survey is optimized for display on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets
- Expanded Question Types – everything StickyFish had and more, including new question types like Numerical Ranking, Binary questions, and 5 Point Likert Scales
- Branching Logic – ask the relevant questions based on the respondents answers by branching them to additional questions
- Random Ordering – choose what order to display your questions and answers or set them to randomly display for each respondent
- Dashboard Overview – see the big picture stats on your survey respondents, completion %, and overall performance quickly and easily through our new survey dashboard
- Enhanced Analytics with Cross Tabs – drill into individual survey results, filter responses, and cross tab question answers

The world is abuzz with “likes” and “commenting”, but do you really know how your audience is using Facebook? Do you have a Facebook strategy to help you grow your database?
These are some of the areas we recently explored with our national Facebook study.
With over 66K national responses, we asked some critical usage questions like:
• Have you ever “liked” a Facebook page to be part of a contest? National sample: 47.5% said yes
• How many hours a day do you spend on Facebook? National sample: 18.5% said 1 to 2 hours a day!
• Have you ever shared information about a contest or brand promotion with your friends on Facebook? National Sample: 31.8% said yes!

How You Can Use the Data
• Use the new “Get Social” module in your loyalty program to incentivize your audience to earn points for ‘likes’ for clients
• Pay attention to how much time your audience spends with Facebook daily and create a strategy to post relevant content more often
• Understand where your audience goes to get information updates most often
• Create on air and off air promotions that can help you leverage your biggest fans social streams to encourage like minded people to sample your brand
