Screen shot 2010-01-25 at 7.38.32 AM One of music’s hottest stars is Chris Daughtry.  Another product of American Idol, Daughtry’s string of hits has made him one of the most promotable artists at pop radio.  A new contest featuring Daughtry has been activated for CHR, Hot AC and  AC affiliates participating in Triton Loyalty Prize Closets.

Members can not only win is new CD, but are also invited to view and rate Daughtry’s new music video “Life After You”, choose their favorite Daughtry song of all time, participate in Daughtry trivia and answer a short survey.

Here are a few ideas for promoting the features:

*  When playing a song by Daughtry, refer to the results of the “pick your favorite song”.  You can get the results chosen by your members through Reports on the admin tool of your program.

*  When playing “life After You”, direct listeners to your web site to see the video and rate it…mention current results of the survey to make it more immediate.

*  Use the trivia question as a tease on the air, and connect your members to the site.  Better yet, find your own trivia questions and use them as the answer to your appointment tune in features…or create a BONUS tune in using the Bonus Code feature.  The Bonus Code word is the answer to the Daughtry question you asked.

*  Notice that the contest has it’s own unique URL.  Connect visitors to your web site directly to this page with a link on your main page.  Non-members will be encouraged to participate (new membership) and members will discover new content.  The URL is  http://(yoursite).com/CustomContest.aspx?AID=79880.

*  Use results of the content (trivia, the surveys, etc) in your newsletters with a link to enter the contest.

The Daughtry feature will be live on your sites through March 1.
