We are excited to announce that we will be rolling out a new version of the Stickyfish admin website on Sunday October 12th. Although you will immediately notice the different look and feel, don’t worry too much about having to re-learn how to use the admin to do things like maintain your audience appointments or post prizes. The core functionality of the tools within the admin and the way you use them hasn’t changed.
However, the new version of the admin site has a new menu structure
that is better organized, a better layout that eliminates the
restrictive and sometimes annoying center iframe, and more links to
helpful resources. It also provides us with the template we need for
future upgraded functionality like cross- browser compatibility and the
all new custom contests module we will be rolling out towards the end
of this month.
Speaking of browser compatibility, we know that many of you are anxiously awaiting the ability to admin your site using Firefox and Safari. We had hoped to release this on the 12th, but we are still working through a few remaining compatibility issues. Until we complete this work, you will need to continue using Internet Explorer version 6 or later. We are working as rapidly as we can on full compatibility, and will keep you updated as we progress.
Below is a list of what’s different about the new admin.
New Features
- New look for the login page
- New homepage with new homepage content, including the latest postings to the Need to Know Blog
- The Navigation menu is now at the top of the screen and has been reorganized
- The center iframe has been removed which eliminates the annoying double scrollbars and allows more workspace for applications within the admin
- New ‘lock’ functionality has been added that allows you to stop in the middle of your work and return right where you left off at any time, yet prevents unauthorized access while you are away from your computer.
- New timeout behavior allows you to log back in (from the same browser window) without losing your place in the admin or your work in progress and eliminates frustrating server timeouts that kick you out of the admin without warning.
Menu Changes
- The “Use Points” menu is now titled “Prizing” and also now contains the fulfillment report.
- The “Get Points” menu is now titled “Points Modules”.
- The Slot Machine is now under a new menu for “Games”
- The Tribal Direct email engine and the Subscriptions menu are now under a new menu called “Mass Email”
